Pubmed importfilter

Downloading
and saving references

  • 1. Make your selection in the database PubMed
  • 2a. To save all retrieved records, goto 3
    or
  • 2b. Mark relevant titles by checking off the box in front of the titles, goto 3
  • 3. Select the format MEDLINE from the Display pull-down menu
  • 4. Select File from the Send to pull-down menu
  • 5. On the File Download screen: choose 'Save'
  • 6a. On the Save As screen: choose a subdirectory on your disk
  • 6b. On the Save As screen: choose a name and add the extension '.txt'
  • 6c. On the Save As screen: Save as Type: 'All Files'
  • 6d. then click Save on the Save As screen
  • 7. After downloading, click Close

The saved text file is the one to use for importing into Reference Manager

  • Start Reference Manager
  • Open or create a database
  • Click File| Import Text File

In the 'Import Text File' window:

  • Select RM database
  • Select Filter: PubMed-tue.cap
  • Select the downloaded text file
  • Select the reference range
  • Click Import
