Bachelor's and Master's students are accommodated in single bedrooms in student houses. Student houses are shared by several (international) students. In the Netherlands it is common for boys and girls to live together in a student house. There are no separate accommodations strictly for boys or girls. The rooms are furnished with:

  • a (single) bed
  • table & chair
  • lamp
  • wardrobe
  • basic kitchen utensils, such as pots, pans, cups, plates and cutlery
  • bed linen
  • use of a washing machine

The rent for a room for exchange students is 350-450 euro per month. This rent is all in and includes:

  • Gas
  • Water
  • Electricity
  • Internet
  • Council taxes and other levies
  • Maintenance
  • Administration costs
  • Safety appliances
  • Inspection service
  • Partial insurance

All Bachelor's and Master's students receive a rental agreement for the period of one year starting in August.

How to apply for housing

Newly admitted Master's students receive a confirmation statement in May from the International Relations Office, which includes the option to apply for housing. The TU/e will mediate in finding housing for you.

If you prefer to arrange your housing yourself, information and tips are available here.

What happens after we have received your application?

A few weeks before your arrival date you will receive an e-mail with your new address in Eindhoven, information on your rent and deposit, on how to pay these costs, and on when and where you can collect your keys. The TU/e housing service is a blind-date arrangement, which means that you cannot view the room before hand. However, if you have any questions about the room that has been offered to you, you can contact the International Office (io@remove-this.tue.nl).
