About Information Retrieval Systems (Databases) in our collection

The Library provides access to a large number of electronic databases, either on-line or on CD-ROM. There are various types:

  • Factual databases / Reference works:
databases holding factual information like corporate data, dictionaries
  • Specialized subject bibliographies:
overviews of publications about research on national and international levels, mainly in scientific journals and reports.
  • Journal databases by publisher

Specialization and coverage
Databases may be of interest for various fields of study (Inspec and others), but are often specialized in specific subjects (ETDE Energy Database for example) or types of documents, like statistics (Statline) or patents (Derwent Innovations Index).

Full text
Wherever possible you will find links to the full text of the articles you are looking for.

Is literature found always available at the TU/e ?
Literature found in these databases is not always available at the TU/e Library. If not, documents may be ordered from elsewhere. Or it may be that your search query must be adjusted.
