Publications by staff members on TU/e website

A researcher or secretary can manage his or her publications quite easily! The application we use for this at TU/e is Metis.
Metis has a user-friendly interface for uploading publications:

  1. Secretaries use Extended Metis.
  2. Researchers use Personal Metis

Upload via Metis means that publications may be found also by various other ways, notably the TU/e employee pages:

  • Publication is visible on staff member's page www.tue.nl/staff/<naamemail>
  • Publications are searchable and visible in Google.
  • Publications are accessible for TU/e staff members from everywhere at any time.
  • The Institutional Repository (IR) is filled automatically, contributing to continuous enhancement of the external visibility of TU/e. (Open Access/Campus only problems are dealt with by IEC) - see also page on depositing.

Advantages of Metis:

If kept up well, Metis provides important information about input and output of one's own department. By using one single (national) system, the IEC aims for standard metadata and permanent storage of all TU/e output, including the full text. That is the only way in which the goal to participate in a large European network of virtual repositories and collaborations may be reached.

  • Connections to Web of Science and Scopus (citations).
  • Extensive reporting options, especially for publications by groups of authors
  • Connections to the staff management system and employee pages (EP)
  • Extensive support by the IEC Metis office.
