The world-wide Open Access Week 2011 took place place from 24 October through 4 November.
The IEC marked this event with a programme aimed specifically at TU/e students and staff.

ir. S. A. (Stefan) Boere, graduate School of Industrial Engineering of Eindhoven University of Technology: “They tried to make money out of research and my vision is to promote research for a wider audience.”
It seems we have overestimated students and staff at TU/e. The Open Access Week 2011 is already on for a week and so far no one has solved the Open Access Treasure Hunt. Admittedly, the puzzle is difficult but nevertheless… With pleasure we offer you a second chance to win 100 Euro in Bol.com vouchers, now however with some clues on how to solve the O.A.T.H.
Hidden on this page are 4 hints. Each hint holds the key to a number. The question is what would you do with these four numbers to share your IP?
New ways of scholarly publishing
This minisymposium held on 26 October, brought new ways of scholarly publishing to the attention of TU/e researchers. Various issues surrounding enhanced (or executable or adaptive) publications were discussed.
Please consult the complete program for detailed information about the speakers and for the slideshows of their presentations.

At the start of the 2011 Open Access Week the IEC is to introduce an updated and simplified tool for uploading publications into the TU/e Repository. This tool will include features for enhancing your publications with supplementary materials. Go to the new page Contributions to find out how this works.
At other places on this site you can read more about the benefits of Open Access publishing. Open Access publishing is becoming ever more common in the TU/e community. A true wealth of articles has been published in Open Access already. Listed below are journal articles on various subjects published by TU/e researchers (full text may be downloaded):

Publications stored in the TU/e Repository are available to the general public. Read more about Open Access publishing and its benefits elsewhere on this site. If you want to know more about adding your publications -with or without additional materials- to the TU/e Repository, see the new page Contributions.
