Reading or printing a scanned journal article requires a TIFF viewer.
On most workstations at TU/e a TIFF viewer is available under Start/Programs/Assessories/Imaging.
IrfanView freeware may also be used for viewing Tiff files and for other purposes.
This tool is also made available to other universities by SURFnet via the SURFkit CD and the website http://www.surfkit.nl.
Reading or printing a Postscript file requires special software.
In order to read Postscript on your screen, install Ghostview and Ghostcript. Do not forget also to install Ghostscript , otherwise Ghostview will not work. Ghostview can be connected to Netscape in the same way as Acrobat. If this connection is made, Ghostview is automatically activated when a Postscript file is clicked from Netschape, and the Postscript file will become visible.
Ghostview can also be used to print Postscript files on printers which normally can't print Postscript.
TU/e staff and students may obtain a registry key via the website Dienst ICT
Reading or printing pdf.files requires Acrobat Reader
In order to read or print pdf.files, you must install Acrobat Reader on your workstation. This software can downloaded free of charge from the Adobe website.
