Via the TU/e network, PCs and notebooks are also connected to the
internet. This makes them vulnerable to unauthorized use when no
thought is given to security. On this page, we offer a couple of tips
to protect your computer from such abuse.
1. Use antivirus software and keep it up-to-date. This will protect
your computer from viruses that reach it via the internet or come
with other data or programs via USB sticks or DVDs.
2. Make sure Windows and Office are up-to-date (using Windows Update)
3. Use e-mail and Outlook in a safe manner. Take anti-spam measures
about spam
IT security is important. Because of this, the TU/e has started a
Security Platform , which keeps track of security issues and risks and
gives advice regarding safe use of IT.
