The TU/e has closed contracts for several software packages. Each program comes with a license that authorizes the use of the software. How this all works will be explained below.

Authorization to use this software is based on the type of workplace and user.

Workplaces are divided into university workplaces, home workplaces and private systems.
University workplaces can be defined as desktops and notebooks that have been purchased, with a cost center number, by the university for its employees.  This also applies to notebooks purchased from the notebook settlement for TU/e students. All other systems that do not meet these criteria’s are seen as private systems or home workplaces.

Users are divided into TU/e employees and students. Employees of the TU/e are people whom are on the TU/e payroll and receive a salary. Students are people whom are enrolled at the TU/e.

The contracts note that the software is only available for educational use. It is not permitted to use the software for commercial research or activities.

Depending on the type of workplace the software is made available on the ICT services webpage.

Software for University use

Single licenses

Single licenses, for university use, for software that will be used on a university system by an employee of the TU/e can be ordered via the ICT services servicedesk. You can mail your order, with a cost center number included, to Servicedesk ICT services.
