From January 1st 2011 the Maple license for TU/e has been withdrawn.

Use of Maple on campus and home use is no longer permitted for students as well as employees.
We kindly ask you to remove Maple software from all of the computers Maple is installed on.
Matlab and Mathematica can be used instead of Maple. Site and Home use licences for both products are available. For questions about software licenses please contact your departmental IT Servicedesk.

Licensed software products

Dienst ICT (Department of ICT) maintains a restricted set of commercial applications for Linux operating systems. This software is part of a TU/e campus license contract.

Error message

To be able to install the software a nfs-package must be installed on your Linux system. Otherwise you will get an error message on the mount command.
Ubuntu gives the following message:

mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on
hercules.tue.nl:/vol/hercules/software/linux,
(for several filesystems (e.g. nfs, cifs) you might need a /sbin/mount helper program)

See for what to do then:

Installation

You can make use of the software in two different ways:

  1. Network installation

The applications are pre-installed on a central fileserver and acces can be obtained via the NFS protocol. This implicates that your Linux computer must be connected to the TU/e network to run an application. All these application are pre-installed with a network license, so you don't need a license on your Linux computer.
  2. Local installation

The application will be installed locally on a Linux filesystem. During this process you may decide to use a locally installed license key or to make use of a network license.

The following applications (32 and 64 bit) and versions are available (the previous version is displayed between parentheses):
