Information for using a POP3/IMAP4 client for e-mail on the student
Exchange server

General

Your user name and password are the same as those of your NT account. So,
your user name will resemble 's123456'. Note that the letter s at the
start of your user name is a small letter, not a capital letter.

Your e-mail address consists of your initials, followed (if applicable)
by the prefix of your last name, and then your last name and
'@remove-this.student.tue.nl'. So, if your name is 'Arthur Bertrand van der
Voorbeeld', your e-mail address will be
A.B.v.d.Voorbeeld@remove-this.student.tue.nl. If this e-mail address already exists,
a serial number is added. In that case, the e-mail address from the
example becomes A.B.v.d.Voorbeeld1@remove-this.student.tue.nl.

Settings for your POP/IMAP client:

Outgoing mail (SMTP) server (also called 'Relay Host'): mailhost.tue.nl

Incoming mail server: webmail.tue.nl (studentweb.student.tue.nl and webmail2007.tue.nl are also working)

Mailserver user name: Your usercode. The combination tue/usercode/alias does not work anymore

Note: It may be that you also have to fill in a port number. For the
servers mentioned above, this is the standard port number, which is 110
for POP and 143 for IMAP.

Information for employees on using a POP/IMAP client for e-mail on the
Exchange servers

General

The user name and password you have to use should be known to you
already.

and '@tue.nl'. So, if your name is 'Arthur Bertrand van der Voorbeld',
your e-mail address will be A.B.v.d.Voorbeeld@tue.nl. If this e-mail
address already exists, a serial number is added. In that case, the
e=mail address from the example becomes A.B.v.d.Voorbeeld1@tue.nl.
