The TU/e offers a number of IT facilities to its guests and visitors.
Eduroam
The TU/e offers the eduroam service on the Wireless LAN. This service,
a SURFnet initiative, offers visitors from other institutions that
offer eduroam the possibility to use the TU/e Wireless LAN with their
own account. Information about eduroam in the Netherlands can be found
at http://www.eduroam.nl.
The configuration or profile for eduroam should be set as follows:
Network name or SSID: eduroam
Authentication: IEEE 802.1x
Encryption: WPA2/AES
Other parameters: Identical to those of your own organisation.
At the loginwindow you have to extend your accountname with a @ character and the domainname of your organisation. If your accountname is John and you are from University of Oxford the accountname will be john@ox.ac.uk.
Wireless LAN for guests
For guests and visitors of congresses and so on who cannot use
eduroam, there is a Wireless LAN for guests available.
This network can be accessed using a temporary guest account.
If access is required for longer than two weeks, you may qualify for a
temporary TU/e domain account. For information about this, contact the
lical service desk of your hosting group or faculty.
