Artist studio Beeldenstorm provides practical support in the manufacture of three-dimensional sculptures in bronze and other metals. It is a place where artists and designers meet and where they can work experimentally. Situated on the TU/e campus Beeldenstorm is a platform where three-dimensional art may be developed.
Thanks to its specific method of coaching and executing Beeldenstorm has meanwhile developed into one of the most important foundries for professional artists and designers in the Netherlands.
Other matters, such as the organization of exhibitions and internal presentations of results of the artists in residence program in collaboration with Grafisch Atelier Daglicht, have now become permanent components of the policy pursued.
The objectives of Beeldenstorm relate to the laboratory function and the relation to innovative and technical developments that are typical of the city of Eindhoven. In a cooperative link with TNO, Beeldenstorm is exploring the possibility of integrating computer aided techniques into the casting process.
Together with the TU/e a way will be sought to present the results of this investigation.
Beeldenstorm addresses itself in particular to artists and designers who use an exploratory, open method in which experiments are not shunned and whereby new solutions are sought. Beeldenstorm thinks that by doing so it can contribute to technical and plastic developments within visual art and design.
