The graphic art collection
In addition to sculptures, constructions, paintings and other forms of art, the TU/e art collection also boasts an extensive and varied collection of graphic art. This collection comprises some 860 works, made by well-known and less known graphic artists. In general the Graphic Art Committee purchases work by promising as well as established artists. In the middle of the 1960s the Graphic Art Committee made its first purchases and as a whole this collection meanwhile presents a fine survey of developments in Dutch graphic art.
Works from the collection may be borrowed by TU/e employees, who can select one or more works to hang them up in their rooms or elsewhere inside their Departments. More information about this may be obtained from Hetty de Groot (grafiekuitleen@tue.nl or telephone 5300) or look on the site of the graphicartloan.
In graphic art the technique is an essential factor for the end result. For those who are interested, we therefore give a brief survey of the techniques used most frequently, illustrated with a number of examples.
