In 2011 elections will be held for the student sections of the University Council and the Department Councils. For the section of the staff members, elections will be held for the University Council, the Department Councils and the Services Council.

These elections will take place by means of electronic voting.

In its meeting dd. 30 maart 2011 the Central Electoral Committee has set the timetable for the organization of the elections 2011. The dates on which the elections will take place have been set by the Central Electoral Committee for:

Monday 07 November thru Wednesday 09 November 2011

 

In the path of the election the following main phases may be distinguished:

Monday 05 September 2011

• Commencement of composition electoral register by Central Electoral Committee.

Monday 10 October thru Wednesday 12 October 2011

• Electoral register available for inspection.
• Opportunity for the submission of written requests for correction of the electoral register

Thursday 13 October and Friday 14 October 2011

• Submitted requests for correction and official corrections of the electoral register made by the Central Electoral Committee available for inspection at the secretariat of the Central Electoral Committee.
• Opportunity for the submission of written objections against the proposed corrections.
• The official correction of the electoral register.

Monday 17 October 2011

• Session of the Central Electoral Committee to decide about the requests for correction and to any objections raised against these requests and against the official corrections.
• Open session of the Central Electoral Committee to establish the electoral register.

Tuesday 18 October thru Thursday 20 October 2011

• Established electoral register available for inspection at the secretariat of the Central Electoral Committee.
• Period for objections against establishment of the electoral register by the Central Electoral Committee.

Monday 07 November thru Wednesday 09 November 2011

• Period of the nomination.

Thursday 10 November and Friday 11 November 2011

• Examination by the Central Electoral Committee of the validity of the nomination.

Monday 14 November and Tuesday 15 November 2011

• Opportunity for correction of the omissions found in the nomination by the Central Electoral Committee.

Wednesday 16 November 2011

• Open session of the Central Electoral Committee to decide about the validity of the lists of candidates and the maintenance of the candidates occurring on them for the election of the members for the University Council and the Department Councils.

Thursday 17 November, Friday 18 November and Monday 21 November 2011

• Sending of the decision by the Central Electoral Committee about the validity of the lists of candidates and the maintenance of the candidates occurring on them to the relevant candidates and to the persons entitled to vote who have handed in a list of candidates for the election of the members for the University Council and the Department Councils.
• The decision by the Central Electoral Committee about the validity of the lists of candidates and the maintenance of the candidates occurring on them for the election of the members for the University Council and the Department Councils  is made available for inspection at the secretariat of the Central Electoral Committee.
• Period for objections against the above-mentioned decision by the Central Electoral Committee.

Tuesday 22 November 2011

• Session of the Central Electoral Committee to establish a summary list of all lists of candidates for the election of the members for the University Council and the Department Councils.
• Open session of the Central Electoral Committee to allocate a list number to the lists of candidates for the election of the members for the University Council and the Department Councils (if necessary by lot).

Wednesday 23 November thru Friday 25 November 2011

• Sending of the notification of the vote.

Tuesday 06 December and Wednesday 07 December 2011

• Electronic voting

Thursday 08 December 2011

• Session of the Central Electoral Committee to establish the definitive result of the elections;
• Open session of the Central Electoral Committee to make known the establishment of the result of the vote.

Monday 12 December thru Wednesday 14 December 2011

• Official report of the establishment of the result of the vote available for inspection at the secretariat of the Central Electoral Committee.
• Period for objections against the decision by the Central Electoral Committee whereby the result has been established.

Thursday 15 December 2011

• Publication of the definitive result of the elections.

1 January 2012

• Commencement date of the term of office of the members of the University Council and the Department Councils.
