Introduction / Instruction on Radiation Safety

Anyone planning to work with radioactive materials or ionising radiation generators must contact the Centre for Radiation Protection (SBD) as these activities are bound to the Health Physics Regulations (Regeling Stralingshygiëne TU/e). Authorisation will depend upon the expertise of the applicant. All radiological workers have the obligation to familiarize themselves with the concerning rules and regulations and to attend the required instruction sessions.

After receiving a completed application radiological work form  the SBD will provide written instructions and an appointment will be made for the necessary introduction and practical instructions.

There are no set dates for introductions in the English language on Radiation Protection, but these will be arranged upon demand.

Qualified Expert Courses

Radiation Safety and Dosimetry for Medical Physicists
A full semester post-graduate course on Radiation Safety and Dosimetry is recognized as a level 3 Qualified Expert Training and it is a certified course for the Medical Physicist Registration in the Netherlands. For additional information contact see SMPE/e course page.

Computer-based Training Program StraDos

SBD-TU/e has developed an interactive computer-based training program named StraDos on a broad range of topics concerning Radiation Safety and Dosimetry. The program is used as part of the level 5 Qualified Expert course, given by the SBD. StraDos also contains an examination section which is used for the final examination of the level 5 Qualified Expert course. The latter section however is not available via the internet.
