The Radiation Protection Department (in Dutch: Stralingsbeschermingsdienst SBD-TU/e) of the Eindhoven University of Technology is responsible for the safe use of radiation in scientific research and education. Emphasis is laid on the advancement of expertise and the sense of responsibility of radiological workers and students, who work with radiation. The SBD-TU/e supervises the safe use of radiation apparatuses and radioactive substances. The SBD-TU/e provides information, courses, advice and services in the field of radiation protection and dosimetry. The SBD-TU/e is a legally recognized official dosimetry service.

The expert knowledge in the field of radiation protection is available on request for hospitals, educational institutes, non-profit and public services.
