Just before the Summer Holiday period started the `TU/e ambassadors project team’ was set up. This project team wants to involve current bachelor and master students, PhD students, exchange students and alumni in the promotion of TU/e’s international study and research programs. The idea behind this team is that enthusiastic experts of the TU/e bring the study possibilities under the attention of interested students abroad.

This t-shirt is one of the incentives of the Ambassadors program.
Students, staff members and alumni applying to be a TU/e ambassador will receive a package containing helpful information such as a PowerPoint presentation of the TU/e, a USB stick with relevant information ( instruction of the Ambassadors project, digital promotion material etc) and a TU/et- shirt . Besides that TU/e ambassadors have access to a Dropbox folder in which the latest updated information and promotional material can be found.
“The reason and idea to establish this Ambassadors team is to recruit international students for the Graduate School of TU/e” says Rian van Campen, one of the staff members of the Ambassadors project team. “Firsthand information, told by somebody currently studying or working at TU/e or recently graduated, will be taken more seriously. Furthermore TU/e ambassadors have the opportunity to come in contact with international students abroad, whilst studying or visiting the university abroad. Staff members visiting universities abroad can also come in contact with local colleagues working there. This is one of the reasons that international students and staff of the TU/e can be a good TU/e ambassador when returning to their home country”.
Just before returning home or taking the plane, exchange students and students of the PDEng programs received an email with the request to consider being a TU/e ambassador. Information about the TU/e ambassadors program was also put in the newsletter of the Personnel Department and sent through social media, e.g. the Facebook group of the international students from TU/e. The project team has already received several applications.
After the summer vacation the project team will develop and organize other activities, like a workshop on Ambassadorship!
