The first 100 teams of TU/e that enroll for the Quiz Night XL will receive a free ticket to break the world record for indoor quizzing. The knowledge quiz will be on Friday 8 June at 7.30 pm in the Eindhoven Beursgebouw (exhibition building). Quiz Night XL closes the first Dutch Technology Week (DTW) and the year in which Eindhoven region can call itself the most intelligent community in the world. During the quiz the announcement of the successor to Eindhoven as the world’s most intelligent community will be announced live.
We want Quiz Night XL to give us a place in the Guinness Book of World Records, so we need more than 2,280 people to take part in the quiz that evening. A team comprises 5 people, students and/or staff. So get you team together fast and take part!
Prizes have been set aside for quite a number of teams with sponsors including Philips, Eindhoven365, Brabant Open Air, the Effenaar, the Park Theater, Extrema Outdoor and Eindhoven Monopoly. The stunning main prize is an LCD-TV worth 425 for every player in the winning team.
All the questions will be put in both English and Dutch. Each team will have a voting device to answer questions that will be on ‘science’ and ‘technology’ themes across a very broad range. You can expect questions on physics, chemistry and biology as well as gadgets, technological innovations and even movies and music in which both themes play a role. The jury will be chaired by TU/e professor Maarten Steinbuch.
The quiz will be co-presented by stand-up comedians Greg Shapiro and Michael Orton-Toliver and between the quiz rounds there will be various performances from artists and the evening will close with a bang with a DJ Lady Aïda after-party! An evening full of entertainment.
